Edward Leilani "Eddie" Kamae (August 4, 1927 – January 7, 2017) was one of the founding members of Sons of Hawaii. He was a 'ukulele virtuoso, singer, composer, film producer and primary proponent of the Hawaiian Cultural Renaissance. He learned ukulele at a very young age. Some years later introduced to his hero and idol, Gabby Pahinui, an instant musical kinship began. Together they formed the Sons of Hawaii in 1959, one of the most popular musical groups of their time, then and now. Uncle Eddie’s contributions to Hawaiian Culture, music and the arts is unparalleled.
